DT2 for Omnisphere is a melodic techno / house soundset based on the Elektron Digitone II. The improvements from the original Digitone are so fundamental many regard the Digitone II to be Elektrons first real step out from the world of grooveboxes into the world of polyphonic synthesizers. At its core, everything in the Digitone II is digital, but apart from just focusing on FM synthesis, the Digitone II now adds several traditional synthesis engines, such as JP8000/Supersaw, Wavetable and Virtual Analog. As well as a very powerful engine designed specifically for FM drums and percussion sounds.
"the versatility of the digitone 2 makes it a perfect fundament for melodic and harmonic sounds, like melodic techno & modern pop productions."
In terms of sound, the upgraded engines in the Digitone II makes it an incredibly versatile synthesizer and with DT2 we sampled a wide range of sounds, from smooth analog sounding supersaws to edgy FM basses, leads and drums.
BONUS J8
While DT2 is a melodic techno soundset with a touch of 80s pop blended into it, we pushed our love for the 1980s even further and created a separate bonus soundset based on the Roland Jupiter 8, called J8. While DT2 is based on our own samples from the Elektron Digitone II, J8 is based on samples from the Spectrasonics Jupiter 8 included in Omnisphere (no expansions needed for these sounds).
